Sentencing for Adriano Panzironi, the “diet guru”: the details of the sentence

Many know him as the “diet guru”. A title that Adriano Panzironi earned with television appearances, book publications but also with a constant presence on social media from which he dispensed advice on diets to follow but also proposing the intake of “potentially harmful” food supplements.
Conduct that today led him to receive a sentence of 2 years and 8 months for the serious charge of unlawful practice of the medical profession .
The single-judge court of Rome, accepting the requests made by the Prosecutor's Office, also imposed a sentence of 1 year and 4 months for Panzironi's brother, Roberto, accused of complicity in the crime .
The first-instance verdict came five years after the trial began.
The indictment crystallizes the accusation that the prosecutors of Piazzale Clodio have made against Panzironi and which has led to a proceeding in which the provincial medical associations of Rome, Venice, Naples and Milan have appeared as civil parties, as well as the order of journalists of Lazio.
